"Casting Release" is a cellulose base paper, surface treated with a release coating and then embossed or calendered.
The product is used mainly by companies that manufacture synthetic leather/leathercloth (that is then used to make products like shoes, garments, handbags/luggage, upholstery, car seat/panel coverings, belts, bookcoverings).
The Casting Release Paper is coated with layers of molten PCV or Polyurethane, which are dried in ovens and then a backing fabric is applied - at the end of the production machine the plastic/fabric laminate is separated (released) from the Release Paper.
The Release Paper is then rewound and used again several times. Because the PVC or Polyurethane are applied in molten form, the embossed pattern or surface/gloss of the Release Paper are imparted to the synthetic leather produced, replicating leatherlike effects to the finished product.

The Release Paper is used in an industrial process, as a carrier and to import leatherlike effects to the end product, being separated (released) from the synthetic leather at the end of the production process - the Release Paper itself, unlike most other paper applications, is NOT an integral part of the finished synthetic leather.

The embossed patterns and surface effects/gloss levels applied to the Release Paper are infinite, from very matt through to high gloss, from textile effects through to classic leather grains and exotic non leather fashion effects.
Because the end use applications (like shoes & garments) are influenced by changing fashion trends and seasons, the Release Paper effects and finishes have to be constantly innovative and changing to meet the next fashion seasons demands. Crusinallo is fortunate to be located in Italy the worldwide centre of fashion excellence and styling.

The introduction of a new product or design/effect involves investment in Research & Development, Production Technology, Fashion Trend Forecasting & Marketing - a correctly chosen pattern or effect can determine the success of a whole years production.
